Summer of science 2025 - Magnetism & Superconductivity

This year I had the pleasure of (just as in 2024) teaching at the Summer of Science at KU Leuven! We dusted off our lecture notes from last year (and I Tikz-ed all of the figures!) and printed 17 new copies for our students. It always feels amazing to see your hard work pay off, and this is no different.

Last year, we split the days into theory–programming–experimental days, and we felt this was a bit heavy on the students (2 times 2.5hrs of theoretical physics was rough for one day), so we switched it up this year. Two half-days of theory alternated with programming/simulation sessions seemed to do the trick! We even had several students come up to us to say they liked the math and wanted more!

Some sections of the notes might become a blog post soon, but next year I probably will not be around to teach at the Summer of Science anymore, and therefore our beautiful notes will be forgotten.

For this reason I want to put them here. Then they are out in the wild for people to find.
